Rathregan National School Staff and Students are delighted to have been awarded the Amber Flag this year. This is the first year that our school have worked towards the Amber Flag and we are so thrilled. To achieve this status, there were a number things which we had to do. We engaged with ''Headbombz'', a National Mental Health day in association with ISPCC and Vodafone. The students began to meditate regularly. There was an Amber Flag committee established and a notice board created with regular inspirational and motivational quotes. The students in 5th and 6th class performed a play named ''Cinderella Rockerfella'' which centered around friendship. Together as a school the students raised over three hundred euro for Pieta House in December. The school are now implementing these strategies along with the Daily Mile and Buddy Bench to ensure that school is a happy and positive space. "We at Pieta House are delighted to inform you that your school has been awarded with an AmberFlag this year! We would like to thank the AmberFlag Committee for their commitment and dedication to promoting Positive Mental Health in your school this year. As you know in order to receive a Pieta House AmberFlag you had to set and achieve goals throughout the year and our team found your application to be an outstanding initiative promoting positive mental health. We are truly overwhelmed with the amazing initiatives being run in schools this year. You are all truly a credit to your school. Well done to all of you, you can all be really proud of yourselves! We certainly are!" Ms.Ward & Ms.McArdle
